Early goals doom Aurora, falls to Kingston, 6-2

A four-goal first period deficit cost the Aurora Tigers, which could not recover and fell to the Kingston Voyageurs, 6-2.

With the win, Kingston avoided elimination to make the series score 3-4 in the best of seven series.

The Voyageurs were sparked by Alex Stothart, who grabbed one goal. Stothart scored on the power play 15:14 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Kingston. A high sticking penalty on Vince Figliomeni had put Kingston on the power play. Alex Tonge provided the assist.

The Voyageurs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Aurora to score on any of its three power plays.

Kingston additionally got points from Colin Tonge, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Adam Brady, who also registered one goal and one assist, Cole Bolton, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Tonge, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Kingston also got a goal from Adam Moodie as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Ryan Watson, Joey Beaudoin, Joey Rutkowski, and Rory McGuire, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers kept Kingston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Urbani made 36 saves on 38 shots.

Aurora was led by Nicholas Erb, who had one goal. Erb scored 5:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Noah Delmas picked up the assist. Taylor Joseph also scored for Aurora. More assists for Aurora came via Eric Williams and Anthony Passero, who contributed one each.

The Voyageurs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Tigers' starting goalie, Marcus Semiao, made four saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Blake Richard, who stopped 18 shots. Aurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
