Kingston falls to Aurora in overtime, 4-3 (OT)INVISTA Center Sun, Mar 15, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aurora Tigers' Michael Laidley scored 19:44 into overtime to beat the Kingston Voyageurs, 4-3 (OT). The win gave Aurora a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. Although the Tigers was up by as many as two goals in the second period, Kingston kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Voyageurs pulled to within 3-2 on a goal by Joey Beaudoin at 10:40 in the third period. Aurora was led by Laidley, who racked up one goal. The Tigers' offense rang up 40 shots on Kingston's net. Aurora also got points from Kyle Locke, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Nicholas Erb, who also registered one goal and one assist. Cameron Morrison also scored for Aurora. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Drake Board, Johnny Curran, and Vince Figliomeni, who each chipped in one. The Voyageurs forced Aurora goalie Andy Munroe to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Kingston was helped by Alex Stothart, who finished with one goal and one assist. Stothart scored on the power play 14:43 into the third period to make the score 3-3. A cross checking penalty on Nolan Dunn had put the Voyageurs on the power play. Adam Brady assisted on the tally. Kingston additionally got points from Brady, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Kingston came via Alex Tonge, who had two and Zachary Emelifeonwu and Cole Bolton, who contributed one each. Munroe recorded 38 saves for the Tigers. Aurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Matt Penta made 36 saves for Kingston on 40 shots. The Voyageurs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
