Stouffville falls to Kingston in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Kingston Voyageurs' Alex Tonge scored 10:51 into overtime to beat the Stouffville Spirit, 5-4 (OT).

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Stouffville faces elimination next time out.

Kingston overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Voyageurs was down 4-2 after a power play goal by the Spirit's Christopher Brill-Morgan at 2:32 in the third period. Kingston tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Alex Stothart at 18:51 in the third period.

Tonge had two goals and one assist to lead the Voyageurs. Tonge scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kingston had gained a power play chance when Chad Burrows was whistled for cross checking. Adam Brady picked up the assist. Tonge's next tally on the power play made the score 5-4 Kingston with 9:09 left in overtime. Joey Beaudoin provided the assist.

The Voyageurs forced Stouffville goalie Aaron Taylor to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

Kingston additionally got points from Brady, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Corey Caruso also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Blake ONeill, Ryan Watson, Michael Crocock, and Cole Bolton, who contributed one each.

The Spirit's offense rang up 35 shots on Kingston's net.

Stouffville was helped by Nick Thomakos, who tallied one goal. Thomakos scored on the power play 15:08 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Stouffville. An interference penalty on Adam Moodie had put the Spirit on the power play. Brill-Morgan assisted on the tally. Stouffville also got points from Brodie Tutton, who also registered one goal and one assist and Brill-Morgan, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stouffville also got a goal from Joseph Deveny as well. Other players who recorded assists for Stouffville were Tyson Bruce, Alex Gilmour, and Michael Giacometti, who each chipped in one.

Daniel Urbani recorded 31 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Aaron Taylor made 44 saves for Stouffville on 49 shots. The Spirit incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
