Stouffville falls to Kingston in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Kingston Voyageurs' Alex Tonge scored 5:03 into overtime to beat the Stouffville Spirit, 4-3 (OT).

The win gave Kingston a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

With three goals and two assists between them, Adam Brady and Tonge teamed up to power the Voyageurs' offense. Brady tallied two goals and one assist and Tonge also notched one goal and one assist.

Kingston forced Stouffville goalie Aaron Taylor to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Kingston additionally got points from Tonge, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kingston also got a goal from Matt Hoover as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Zachary Emelifeonwu, Corey Caruso, Cole Bolton, and Rory McGuire, who each chipped in one.

The Spirit's offense rang up 34 shots on the Voyageurs' net.

Stouffville was led by Tyson Bruce, who had two goals. Bruce scored the first of his two goals at 2:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stouffville. Brodie Tutton picked up the assist. Bruce's next tally made the score 2-1 Stouffville with 19:03 left in the second period. Matthew Heffernan assisted on the tally. Nick Thomakos also scored for Stouffville. More assists for Stouffville came via Michael Giacometti, who had three.

Matt Penta made 31 saves for Kingston on 34 shots. The Voyageurs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Taylor rejected 38 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Spirit, Jordan Nesbitt was ejected from the game.
