The Wellington Dukes tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Trenton Golden Hawks held on for a 3-2 victory. Trenton took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Wellington storm back on a Abbott Girduckis goal 2:22 into the third period to pull to one goal down. After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, the Dukes face elimination next time out. Brady Wiffen had two goals and one assist to lead the Golden Hawks. Wiffen scored the first of his two goals at 5:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Trenton. Zach de Concilys assisted on the tally. Wiffen's next tally made the score 3-0 Trenton with 17:02 left in the second period. Danny Liscio provided the assist. Trenton got its opportunities on the power play, but did not convert any of its 11 chances. Trenton additionally got points from Liscio, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Matt Pizzo, who had one. Wellington stifled the Golden Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Dukes' offense rang up 38 shots on Trenton's net. Wellington also got points from Will Cook, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Wellington received assists from Joe McKeown, who had two. Justin Kapelmaster recorded 36 saves for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors. Daniel Potter made 23 saves for Wellington on 26 shots. The Dukes incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with 14 minors. Wellington ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Conner Judson was ejected from the game.
