Orangeville blows out Oakville, 5-2Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Mon, Mar 02, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Orangeville Flyers had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Oakville Blades. The win by Orangeville broke a deadlock and gave the Flyers a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series. Orangeville was led by Kosta Likourezos, who had one goal. Likourezos scored 17:42 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Orangeville. James McLaughlin assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Orangeville included Darren Nesbitt, who had two and Ryan DaSilva and Ethan Wiseman, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were Devon Gillham, who had two and Colin Rigney, Connor Stack, Ryan Anton, and Daniel DeRose, who each chipped in one. The Flyers were unable to stop Oakville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Oakville did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Blades were helped by Greg Campbell, who registered one goal. Campbell scored on the power play 13:09 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Oakville had taken the advantage when Orangeville's Wiseman got sent off for interference. Josh Kosack picked up the assist. Jackson Bales also scored for Oakville. In addition, Oakville received assists from Kamil Tkaczuk, Tyler Burns, and Ryan Garvey, who contributed one each. The Flyers' Wyatt Pickrell stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Orangeville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Daniel Mannella took the loss and made 17 saves before being replaced by Brendan McGlynn who made seven saves. The Blades registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
