Oakville downs Orangeville, 5-1

Matthew McLeod had one point to lead the Oakville Blades to a 5-1 victory over the Orangeville Flyers.

With the win, Oakville evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:22 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

The Blades' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Orangeville power plays.

Oakville additionally got points from Christian Rajic, who also registered one goal and one assist. Oakville also had goals scored by Josh Kosack, Tyler Rollo, and Matt Lippa, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Kamil Tkaczuk, who had two and Daniel Jelic, Brandon Hughes, Tanner Shaw, Sean Kohler, Max Lindsay, Vince Palermo, and Greg Campbell, who each chipped in one.

Orangeville was led by James McLaughlin, who scored the team's only goal. McLaughlin scored 13:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Derek Topatigh provided the assist.

Daniel Mannella made 24 saves for Oakville on 25 shots. The Blades totaled 51 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. Oakville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Paul Butler was ejected from the game. Wyatt Pickrell took the loss and made 24 saves before being replaced by Nicholas Latinovich who made zero saves. The Flyers ended with 65 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major. For Orangeville, Ryan Anton and Ian Nichols were ejected from the contest.
