Omaha AAA 14U blows out Texas Jr. Brahmas 14U, 5-0

Omaha AAA 14U had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over Texas Jr. Brahmas 14U.

Omaha AAA 14U was led by Zane Schmidt, who tallied one goal and one assist. Schmidt scored 2:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Omaha AAA 14U. Jack Craycroft assisted on the tally.

Omaha AAA 14U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Texas Jr. Brahmas 14U to score on any of its three power plays. Omaha AAA 14U forced Texas Jr. Brahmas 14U goalie Graham Brady to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Omaha AAA 14U also got points from Logan Will, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Omaha AAA 14U included Lucas Shubert, Nick Novak, and Blake Hutton, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Omaha AAA 14U were Clark Kerner and Cooper McDermott, who contributed one each.

Texas Jr. Brahmas 14U stifled Omaha AAA 14U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Texas Jr. Brahmas 14U did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 12 saves.

Jack Faulkner made 12 saves for Omaha AAA 14U on 12 shots. Omaha AAA 14U incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Omaha AAA 14U ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jacob Felker was ejected from the game. Texas Jr. Brahmas 14U's Brady stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Texas Jr. Brahmas 14U incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
