Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede 14U vanquishes Pursuit of Excellence 2 14U in shootout, 2-1

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede 14U defeated Pursuit of Excellence two 14U in a shootout 2-1.

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. In addition to the clincher, Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede 14U got a shootout goal from Jack Olson.

Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede 14U's Brody Herrick was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 25 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Herrick will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.88.

Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede 14U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pursuit of Excellence two 14U to score on any of its six power plays.

Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede 14U was led by Carter Tobin, who had one goal. Tobin scored 14:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede 14U. Brendan Way assisted on the tally.
