The SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan Broncos survived a determined comeback attempt by Hafro SG Cortina on the way to a 2-1 win.

SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan took a 2-0 lead during the first period, only to have Hafro SG Cortina storm back on a Christian Menardi goal 5:15 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Hafro SG Cortina was stymied by the Broncos' netminder Joni Juho Paavali Puurula, who stopped 28 shots during the victory. The solid play of Puurula will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.68.

SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Hafro SG Cortina to score on any of its eight power plays.
