Kotzman's goals lift Dallas Snipers to 8-5 victory over Wichita Jr. Thunder

Dallas Snipers relied on the scoring touch of Alexander Kotzman, who netted two goals, to beat Wichita Jr. Thunder, 8-5.

Kotzman found the back of the net 4:39 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 17:08 into the third to make the score 6-5 Dallas Snipers.

Dallas Snipers forced Wichita Jr. Thunder goalie Jake Larson to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Dallas Snipers surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Dallas Snipers averages 4.2 goals per game.

Dallas Snipers also got points from Justin Becton, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Erik Svensson, who also had one goal and one assist, and Trent Williams, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Sterling Cooper also scored for Dallas Snipers. More assists for Dallas Snipers came via Jean Cobo, who had two and Ryan White, Peter Kutlak, Pavol Kotzman, and Carl Sandsten, who contributed one each.

Dallas Snipers was unable to stop Wichita Jr. Thunder from sending pucks towards the net, and Wichita Jr. Thunder eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Wichita Jr. Thunder's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Wichita Jr. Thunder could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Wichita Jr. Thunder was helped by Tom Lindstrom, who finished with two goals. Lindstrom scored the first of his two goals at 1:58 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Dallas Snipers. Ivan Brvenik picked up the assist. Lindstrom's next tally made the score 5-5 with 7:51 left in the third period. Wichita Jr. Thunder earned a power play opportunity when Kutlak was put in the box for tripping. Zach Balodis provided the assist. Wichita Jr. Thunder additionally got points from Kris Tountas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Peter Cicmanec, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Wichita Jr. Thunder also got a goal from Jet Bell as well.

Sander Berg recorded 26 saves for Dallas Snipers. Dallas Snipers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jake Larson made 33 saves for Wichita Jr. Thunder on 39 shots. Wichita Jr. Thunder registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
