Jacobson nets hat trick, leads Missoula Maulers to 10-2 win over Seattle Totems

Sawyer Jacobson netted a hat trick to lead Missoula Maulers over Seattle Totems, 10-2.

Jacobson got on the scoresheet 1:08 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:59 into the first and at 15:10 into the third.

Seattle Totems' power play was ineffective against Missoula Maulers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Missoula Maulers forced Seattle Totems' goaltenders to work all game long, getting 52 shots and forcing 42 saves. Anton Vigre made 16 stops and Angus Campbell made 26. Missoula Maulers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in nine chances. Missoula Maulers bested its season scoring average. This season, Missoula Maulers averages 5.4 goals per contest.

Missoula Maulers also got points from Sam Sevcik, who also finished with three goals and three assists and Alex Shalamov, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Missoula Maulers included Evan Dorwart, Tyler Lodin, and Paige Maul, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Missoula Maulers were Domantas Cypas, who had two, Corey Schafer, who had six, and Dominic Rinaldi, Henrik Ekestahl, and Justin Barnes, who each chipped in one.

Seattle Totems' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to Missoula Maulers' power play unit.

Seattle Totems also had goals scored by Marek Nemec and August Cnattingius, who each put in one. In addition, Seattle Totems received assists from Lukas Vendis and Axel Martensson, who contributed one each.

Aron Holmgren recorded 24 saves for Missoula Maulers. Missoula Maulers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Seattle Totems incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
