San Diego falls apart in second, loses to Long Beach Bombers, 9-3

Long Beach Bombers scored four goals in the second period to pull away from San Diego and clinch a 9-3 win.

Tomas Nemeth was all over the ice for Long Beach Bombers, as he tallied four goals and one assist in the win. Nemeth's first goal came 10:23 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:40 into the second, at 14:42 into the second, and at 11:43 into the third.

Long Beach Bombers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Long Beach Bombers surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Long Beach Bombers averages 4.7 goals per contest. The defensemen of Long Beach Bombers were also effective in San Diego's zone, and came away with two goals.

Long Beach Bombers also got points from Khalil East, who also had one goal and one assist, Anton Rhose, who also registered one goal and two assists, Johan Beatty, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Casper Faltskog, who also registered one goal and one assist. Niklas McPherson also scored for Long Beach Bombers. More assists for Long Beach Bombers came via Reinis Vitolins, who had five, Marcus Sundell, Parker Moskal, and Kent Nusbaum, who each chipped in one, and Mikyal Anas and Tomas Urbanec, who contributed two each.

San Diego was helped by Keegan Evangelista, who finished with one goal. Evangelista scored 14:54 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Long Beach Bombers. Cameron Todd provided the assist. San Diego additionally got points from Todd, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. San Diego also got a goal from Kastle Birch as well. In addition, San Diego received assists from Wesley Varrasso, who had two and Filip Masek, Tyler Kubara, and Cameron Brantz, who each chipped in one.

Long Beach Bombers' starting goalie, Dennis Tschudi, made 14 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Nusbaum, who stopped seven shots. Long Beach Bombers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brody Cavataio rejected 16 shots on goal for San Diego. San Diego incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
