Butte Cobras took a 7-3 lead during the third period, only to have Lake Tahoe Blue storm back on a Igor Stibysh goal 10:10 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Butte Cobras got the win thanks to a great game by Anton Zimmer, who had two goals and two assists. Zimmer scored the first of his two goals at 11:55 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Butte Cobras. Jacob Rudloff assisted on the tally. Zimmer's next tally made the score 5-3 Butte Cobras with 7:28 left in the second period. Bogdan Shleev picked up the assist.

Butte Cobras put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Lake Tahoe Blue to score on any of its three power plays.
