Ogden Mustangs beats Colorado RoughRiders 8-5 as Forbes gets hat trick

Colorado RoughRiders could not stop Ogden Mustangs' Alex Forbes, who tallied a hat trick in an 8-5 win.

Forbes notched his first tally 16:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:16 into the third and at 6:27 into the third.

Colorado RoughRiders was unable to stop Ogden Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Ogden Mustangs eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Ogden Mustangs' goal total was higher than its season average. This season, Ogden Mustangs averages 4.5 goals per contest. Ogden Mustangs' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in four goals to Colorado RoughRiders' power play unit.

Ogden Mustangs also got points from Ilya Bobko, who also grabbed one goal and three assists and Martin Hallin, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Ogden Mustangs also got a goal from Edvin Johansson as well. In addition, Ogden Mustangs received assists from Clay Cross, Charlie Reed, and Jon Mencer, who contributed one each and Andreas Zollner and Jakob Engvall, who each chipped in two.

Colorado RoughRiders had taken the advantage when Ogden Mustangs' Bobko got sent off for tripping. Walker Harris picked up the assist. Colorado RoughRiders additionally got points from Greg Dyba, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Colorado RoughRiders also had goals scored by Nick Kuhn, Cody Oakes, and Stephen Dora, who each put in one. More assists for Colorado RoughRiders came via Devon Pilkington, who had three and Anthony Newsome, Christian Akita, and Thayne Trumbull, who contributed one each.

Ogden Mustangs' Christoffer Sj���� stopped 18 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Ogden Mustangs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kirill Pustovalov made 32 saves for Colorado RoughRiders on 40 shots. Colorado RoughRiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
