Wallin's hat trick boosts Phoenix Knights over San Diego, 6-4

William Wallin netted a hat trick to lead Phoenix Knights over San Diego, 6-4.

Wallin got on the scoresheet 2:10 into the third period. He then added goals at 17:10 into the third and at 19:16 into the third.

Phoenix Knights forced San Diego goalie Brody Cavataio to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Phoenix Knights' goal total was higher than its season average. Phoenix Knights averages 3.4 goals per game.

Phoenix Knights also got points from Brynton Macnab, who also had one goal and two assists and Vojtech Zemlicka, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. In addition, Phoenix Knights received assists from Rasmus Alamaa, who had three, Brennan Kosloski and Jordan Kaspick, who each chipped in one, and Davis Dryden and Reid Hunter, who contributed two each.

Phoenix Knights was unable to stop San Diego from sending pucks towards the net, and San Diego eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. San Diego found itself short handed often, totaling 68 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

San Diego was led by Cameron Todd, who finished with two goals. Todd scored the first of his two goals at 16:50 into the second period to make the score 3-1 San Diego. Pavel Bocharov picked up the assist. Todd's next tally made the score 5-4 Phoenix Knights with 1:19 left in the third period. Bocharov assisted on the tally. San Diego also had goals scored by Tyler Kubara and Felix Morin, who scored one goal each. More assists for San Diego came via Will Parker, Artemiy Yaroslavskiy, Toni Haikarainen, Nurbek Baltayev, and Kastle Birch, who each chipped in one.

Phoenix Knights' Colton Pankiw stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Phoenix Knights incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Cavataio rejected 30 shots on goal for San Diego. San Diego registered two goals on four power play opportunities. San Diego ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ustin Molochkov was ejected from the game.
