Oklahoma City Blazers wins tough contest against Springfield Express, 4-3

Oklahoma City Blazers and Springfield Express were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Oklahoma City Blazers made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Victor Ekk at 16:11 of the third period.

Oklahoma City Blazers got the win on the strength of a great game by Kirill Romanov, who had two goals and one assist. Romanov scored the first of his two goals at 9:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oklahoma City Blazers. Matthew Audette assisted on the tally. Romanov's next tally made the score 2-2 with 1:37 left in the second period. Ekk picked up the assist.

Oklahoma City Blazers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Oklahoma City Blazers forced Springfield Express goalie Bobby Dugan to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Oklahoma City Blazers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Oklahoma City Blazers also got points from Ekk, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Petr Kobes also scored for Oklahoma City Blazers. More assists for Oklahoma City Blazers came via Dylan Lamontagne, Colton Nelson, Kole Hudson, and Lubos Vacek, who contributed one each.

Springfield Express' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Oklahoma City Blazers power plays. Oklahoma City Blazers was unable to stop Springfield Express from sending pucks towards the net, and Springfield Express eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Springfield Express was helped by Linus Dahlberg, who tallied one goal. Dahlberg scored 13:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Diego Bartlett assisted on the tally. Springfield Express additionally got points from Eric Hewitt, who also registered one goal and one assist. Springfield Express also got a goal from Collin Young as well. In addition, Springfield Express received assists from Josh Cook, who had one and Mike Heverly, who had two.

Jakub Krejci rejected 38 shots on goal for Oklahoma City Blazers. Bobby Dugan made 30 saves for Springfield Express on 34 shots. Springfield Express incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
