Missoula Maulers downs Butte Cobras, 4-1

Tyler Zandhuisen tallied one point to lead Missoula Maulers to a 4-1 victory over Butte Cobras.

Missoula Maulers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Butte Cobras power plays. Butte Cobras was unable to stop Missoula Maulers from sending pucks towards the net, and Missoula Maulers eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Missoula Maulers additionally got points from Sawyer Jacobson, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Missoula Maulers included Tanner Todd and Corey Schafer, who scored one goal each. In addition, Missoula Maulers received assists from Sam Sevcik, who had two and Chris Laporte, Wyatt Mathews, Andrei Shebelbain, and Damon Hanson, who each chipped in one.

Butte Cobras found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

Butte Cobras was led by Brock Solomon, who scored the team's only goal. Solomon scored 14:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Missoula Maulers. David Bures picked up the assist.

Missoula Maulers' Aron Holmgren stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Missoula Maulers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Tage Rustgi made 36 saves for Butte Cobras on 40 shots.
