Ontario Avalanche downs Phoenix Knights, 5-2

Antoine Maillard registered one point to lead Ontario Avalanche to a 5-2 victory over Phoenix Knights.

Ontario Avalanche excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Phoenix Knights was unable to stop Ontario Avalanche from sending pucks towards the net, and Ontario Avalanche eventually piled up 53 shots on goal.

Ontario Avalanche also got points from Michael Thomas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Marc Janisch, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Ontario Avalanche included Nick Anderson and Coleton Dawson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ontario Avalanche received assists from Thurel Kast and Andrew Guzman, who each chipped in one and Jackson Giammona, Adam Plonski, and Jonathan Stuxberg, who contributed two each.

Phoenix Knights struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 34 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Phoenix Knights was helped by Braden Cooper, who racked up one goal. Cooper scored 8:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Phoenix Knights. Brennan Johnsson assisted on the tally. William Wallin also scored for Phoenix Knights. Other players who recorded assists for Phoenix Knights were Chase Gillaspie, who had one.

Daniel Cepila made 22 saves for Ontario Avalanche on 24 shots. Ontario Avalanche incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Luke Stripp recorded 48 saves for Phoenix Knights.
