Ontario Avalanche uses big second period to beat Las Vegas Storm, 11-0

Ontario Avalanche used a seven-goal second period to put away Las Vegas Storm, 11-0.

Chris Skeates frustrated Las Vegas Storm's offense all game, and stopped 25 shots en route to a shutout. Skeates managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.93 prior to the game.

Nick Anderson was all over the ice for Ontario Avalanche, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Anderson scored 2:51 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Ontario Avalanche. Zechariah Roberts picked up the assist.

Ontario Avalanche forced Las Vegas Storm's goaltenders to work all game long, firing 41 shots and forcing 30 saves. Patrik Jokela made 20 stops and Jaedon McConnell made 10. Ontario Avalanche's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Las Vegas Storm power plays. Ontario Avalanche featured an improved defense during the game. Ontario Avalanche allows 3.0 goals per game. Ontario Avalanche found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Ontario Avalanche averages 4.2 goals per game.

Ontario Avalanche also got points from Michael Thomas, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Filip Masek, who also had one goal and one assist, Roberts, who also racked up one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Marc Janisch, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Jonathan Stuxberg, who also tallied three goals and one assist. Ontario Avalanche also got a goal from Paul Ramsey as well. In addition, Ontario Avalanche received assists from Antoine Maillard, who had three, Tre Mason, Jackson Giammona, Henning Danielson, and Adam Plonski, who each chipped in one, and Martin Carlsson and Thurel Kast, who contributed two each.

Las Vegas Storm forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game Las Vegas Storm had been spending in the box. Las Vegas Storm did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Las Vegas Storm puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

Ontario Avalanche incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Ontario Avalanche ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Andrew Guzman was ejected from the game. For Las Vegas Storm, Nathan Fournier was ejected from the game.
