Parker leads Missoula Maulers to shutout victory over Whitefish Wolverines

Noah Parker was superb between the pipes for Missoula Maulers, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over Whitefish Wolverines.

Missoula Maulers got the win behind a great game by Austin Azzinnaro, who had two goals and one assist. Azzinnaro scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Missoula Maulers. A tripping penalty on Kieffer Helbing had put Missoula Maulers on the power play. Corey Schafer assisted on the tally. Azzinnaro's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Missoula Maulers with 13:37 left in the second period. Sawyer Jacobson provided the assist.

Missoula Maulers forced Whitefish Wolverines' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 48 shots and forcing 45 saves. Brendan Schultz made 45 stops and Joakim Hidestrand made zero. Missoula Maulers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Whitefish Wolverines power plays. Missoula Maulers featured an improved defense during the game. Missoula Maulers averages 2.8 goals allowed per game. Missoula Maulers got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
