Missoula Maulers holds on for 6-4 win against Butte Cobras

Butte Cobras tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Missoula Maulers held on for a 6-4 victory.

Missoula Maulers made the score 6-3 on a goal by Alex Shalamov at 7:13 in the third period, and Butte Cobras got as close as 6-4 when PJ Silveria scored 17:20 into the third period.

Damon Hanson was all over the ice for Missoula Maulers, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Hanson scored 12:02 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Missoula Maulers. Tyler Zandhuisen provided the assist.

Missoula Maulers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Missoula Maulers had been spending in the box. Missoula Maulers forced Butte Cobras goalie Tage Rustgi to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Missoula Maulers additionally got points from Tanner Todd, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Andrei Shebelbain, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Missoula Maulers also got a goal from Sawyer Jacobson as well. In addition, Missoula Maulers received assists from Henrik Ekestahl, Matt Chamberlain, Edward Pollon, and Corey Schafer, who contributed one each.
