Idaho Junior Steelheads downs Missoula Maulers in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Idaho Junior Steelheads' Elliot Lorraine scored 2:03 into overtime to beat Missoula Maulers, 5-4 (OT).

Idaho Junior Steelheads overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Idaho Junior Steelheads fell behind 4-2 after a power play goal by Missoula Maulers' Sawyer Jacobson at 3:55 in the third period. Idaho Junior Steelheads tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Victor Carlsson at 19:19 in the third period.

Idaho Junior Steelheads got the win thanks to a great game by Lorraine, who had two goals and two assists. Lorraine scored the first of his two goals short handed at 15:00 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Missoula Maulers. A slashing call on Phil Fromberger put Idaho Junior Steelheads on the penalty kill. Carlsson picked up the assist. Lorraine's next tally short handed made the score 5-4 Idaho Junior Steelheads with 17:57 left in. Carlsson provided the assist.

Idaho Junior Steelheads' offense rang up 34 shots on Missoula Maulers' net. Idaho Junior Steelheads' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. Idaho Junior Steelheads gives up 1.4 goal per game.

Idaho Junior Steelheads additionally got points from Carlsson, who also registered one goal and three assists. Missoula Maulers also got points from Shalamov, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Henrik Ekestahl also scored for Missoula Maulers. In addition, Missoula Maulers received assists from Sam Sevcik, Andrei Shebelbain, Matt Chamberlain, and Corey Schafer, who each chipped in one.

Tyler Hough made 20 saves for Idaho Junior Steelheads on 24 shots. Idaho Junior Steelheads totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Missoula Maulers' Aron Holmgren stopped 29 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Missoula Maulers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
