Fresno Monsters beats Phoenix Knights 7-3 as Guidon gets hat trick

Gianmarco Guidon netted a hat trick to lead Fresno Monsters over Phoenix Knights, 7-3.

Guidon notched his first tally 18:06 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:51 into the second and at 18:50 into the third.

Fresno Monsters pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 32 penalty minutes.

Fresno Monsters forced Phoenix Knights goalie Luke Stripp to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

Fresno Monsters additionally got points from Kyle Baker, who also had one goal and one assist and Conner Osborne, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Fresno Monsters also had goals scored by Owen Sikich and Patrick Meier, who each put in one. In addition, Fresno Monsters received assists from Michael Freeman and Mitchell Dolman, who each chipped in one and Jacob Haynes and Carter Dahl, who contributed two each.

Phoenix Knights struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 27 penalty minutes for four opposing power plays.

Phoenix Knights was helped by Dylan Farmer, who registered one goal. Farmer scored 13:02 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Phoenix Knights. Robert Crisci picked up the assist. Others who scored for Phoenix Knights included Layton Dornn and William Wallin, who scored one goal each. More assists for Phoenix Knights came via Brennan Johnsson and Brynton Macnab, who each chipped in one.

Nathan Churchill recorded 23 saves for Fresno Monsters. Phoenix Knights' Stripp stopped 42 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Phoenix Knights registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
