Lake Tahoe Blue falls to Butte Cobras in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Anton Zimmer gave Butte Cobras a 5-4 (OT) victory over Lake Tahoe Blue when he scored 25 seconds into the extra period.

Butte Cobras almost relinquished a three-score lead. Butte Cobras made the score 4-1 on a power play goal by Zimmer at 10:55 in the second period. Lake Tahoe Blue pulled to within 4-3 on a goal by David Raus at 8:52 in the third period.

Butte Cobras kept Lake Tahoe Blue's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Andersen made 26 saves on 31 shots.

Butte Cobras also had goals scored by Chadd Lounder and Kevin Philbin, who each put in one. More assists for Butte Cobras came via Clinton Hildebrand, PJ Silveria, Bogdan Shleev, Derick Brehm, Brock Solomon, Zach Steuck, Anton Bokull, and Reed Kinsey, who each chipped in one.

Lake Tahoe Blue's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. Lake Tahoe Blue had been averaging 24.0 minutes in penalties per game. Lake Tahoe Blue's offense rang up 56 shots on Butte Cobras' net.

Others who scored for Lake Tahoe Blue included Wesley Callens and Charlie Hammerback, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lake Tahoe Blue received assists from Julius Bauermeister, who had two and Vladislav Polyashov, Brandon Aab, and Sheamus Stoyle, who contributed one each.

Butte Cobras' Kinsey stopped 52 shots out of the 56 that he faced. Butte Cobras totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. Lake Tahoe Blue registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Lake Tahoe Blue ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Aab was ejected from the game.
