Leamington survives Chatham comeback, wins 5-4Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Sun, Mar 30, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Leamington Flyers came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Chatham Maroons, but did just enough to escape with a 5-4 victory. Leamington led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Flyers' Dylan Seguin scored on the power play at 6:04 in the first period to put Leamington up 3-0. The win by the Flyers broke a deadlock and gave Leamington a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series. Seguin had two goals and one assist to lead the Flyers. Chatham was unable to stop Leamington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Leamington also got points from Kyle Quick, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tony Spidalieri, who also had one goal and one assist. Eric Henderson also scored for Leamington. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were David Dalby, who had two and Alex Seguin, Mitchell Amante, and Chris Scott, who contributed one each. The Maroons were led by Adam Arseneault, who grabbed three goals and one assist. Chatham additionally got points from Tanner Ferguson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Chatham came via Blayne Oliver, who had one and Kyle Brothers and Michael Verboom, who contributed two each. Austyn Roudebush recorded 26 saves for Leamington. The Flyers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jacob Keogh made 26 saves for Chatham on 31 shots. The Maroons totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. For Chatham, John Bowen was ejected from the game.
