Chatham downs LaSalle, 7-3Chatham Memorial Arena Wed, Mar 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Mark Fratarcangelli grabbed two points to lead the Chatham Maroons to a 7-3 victory over the LaSalle Vipers. The win by Chatham clinched the best of seven series at 4-0. The Maroons' offense rang up 39 shots on LaSalle's net. Chatham additionally got points from Jared Dennis, who also registered one goal and one assist, Charlie Izaguirre, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Adam Arseneault, who also had one goal and one assist. Michael Verboom also scored for Chatham. In addition, Chatham received assists from Connor Annett, Steven Szekesy, Ben Pataki, James McEwan, Tanner Ferguson, Ian Faubert, and Michael Levesque, who each chipped in one. The Vipers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. LaSalle forced Chatham goalie Jacob Keogh to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Vipers were helped by Brendan McCann, who tallied one goal. McCann scored 15:01 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Chatham. Mark Manchurek provided the assist. LaSalle also got points from Brett Langlois, who also registered one goal and one assist. LaSalle also got a goal from Devon Paliani as well. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Bill Eansor, who had one. Keogh recorded 31 saves for the Maroons. Chatham ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For the Maroons, Brayden Hopkins was ejected from the game. Cameron Zanussi made 32 saves for LaSalle on 37 shots. The Vipers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
