Caledonia downs Thorold in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Caledonia Corvairs pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Thorold Blackhawks on a clutch goal by Connor Murphy.

With the win, Caledonia evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Corvairs were led by goalie Colin Furlong, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Furlong will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.11.

Caledonia was led by Murphy, who registered one goal. Murphy scored 15 seconds into overtime to make the score 2-1 Caledonia. Matt Quilty assisted on the tally.

The Corvairs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Thorold power plays. Thorold was unable to stop Caledonia from sending pucks towards the net, and the Corvairs eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Caledonia additionally got points from Cody Brown, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Jordan Peacock and Chance MacDonald, who contributed one each.

The Blackhawks were led by Kevin Lavoie, who scored the team's only goal. Lavoie scored 14:49 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Carl Greco picked up the assist.

Caledonia incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brendan Polasek rejected 30 shots on goal for Thorold. The Blackhawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
