Kitchener downs Stratford in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Kegan Blasby gave the Kitchener Dutchmen a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Stratford Cullitons when he scored 4:52 into the extra period.

The win moved Kitchener to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Dutchmen came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Kitchener trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by Stratford's Nathan Templeman at 1:17 in the second period. The Dutchmen knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Jordan Delaurier at 6:31 in the third period.

Kitchener was led by Blasby, who racked up one goal and one assist.

The Dutchmen kept the Cullitons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nicholas Caldwell made 31 saves on 34 shots. Kitchener did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Kitchener also got a goal from Mitchell Smith as well. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Jacob Cascagnette, who had one.

Stratford excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Cullitons forced the Dutchmen goalie Marc Williams to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Trevor Sauder also scored for Stratford. More assists for Stratford came via Jake Pleon, Mitch Brooks, and Trevor MacDonald, who each chipped in one.

Kitchener's Williams stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Stratford incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
