Dawe, St. Catharines blank Fort Erie, 5-0

The St. Catharines Falcons used a sparkling performance by Knick Dawe to take down the Fort Erie Meteors, as the netminder did not allow a goal in St. Catharines' 5-0 shutout victory.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Fort Erie faces elimination next time out.

The Falcons' penalty kill excelled, as St. Catharines gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Falcons were led by Tyler Jackson, who registered one goal. Jackson scored 1:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines. Mark Rodgers picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 4:53 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

St. Catharines stifled the Meteors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

St. Catharines also got points from Kyle Woodhouse, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for St. Catharines included Ryan Stayner, Yanni Rallis, and Tyler Hildebrant, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for St. Catharines were Aaron Taylor, who had two and Broderick Kelly, Jacob Parisotto, Greg Jambrosich, Brandon Cercone, Mitch Bursey, and Tommy Barszcz, who contributed one a piece.

Dawe recorded 28 saves for the Falcons. St. Catharines totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 1-for-8 on the power play. Team's Rallis, Ryan Doucette, and Bursey were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Liam Conway took the loss and made 10 saves before being replaced by Matt Baker who made 14 saves. Fort Erie ended with 59 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors and one major. For the Meteors, Kyle Marino was ejected from the game.
