Tommy Barszcz lifted the St. Catharines Falcons to a 6-0 victory with a hat trick against the Fort Erie Meteors. Barszcz got on the scoresheet 15:29 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:15 into the third and at 15:57 into the third.The win gave St. Catharines a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Falcons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Fort Erie power plays. St. Catharines also got points from Greg Jambrosich, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for St. Catharines included Tyler Jackson and Aaron Taylor, who each put in one. More assists for St. Catharines came via Brennan Feasey, who had three, Brandon Cercone, Mitch Bursey, and Cam Blakely, who each chipped in one, and Kyle Woodhouse and Ryan Doucette, who contributed two a piece. St. Catharines' Knick Dawe stopped 18 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Falcons totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For St. Catharines, Nigel Slade was ejected from the game. Liam Conway rejected 23 shots on goal for Fort Erie. The Meteors incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
