Caldwell leads Stratford to shutout victory over CambridgeAllman Arena Mon, Mar 03, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Nicholas Caldwell recorded a shutout against the Cambridge Winter Hawks as the Stratford Cullitons picked up a 2-0 win. After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Cambridge faces elimination next time out. Stratford was led by Shane O Brien, who tallied one goal. O Brien scored on the power play 4:54 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Stratford. The Cullitons had gained a power play chance when Alex Bottigoni was whistled for cross checking. Trevor Sauder picked up the assist. The Winter Hawks were unable to stop Stratford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cullitons eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Stratford also got a goal from Brett Heaman as well. More assists for Stratford came via Ryker Killins, who had one and Deven Kropf, who had two. Cambridge forced Stratford goalie Caldwell to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Caldwell recorded 32 saves for the Cullitons. Stratford incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lucas Machalski made 43 saves for the Winter Hawks on 44 shots. Cambridge incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Winter Hawks, Cameron Pentsa was ejected from the game. |
