Williams, Kitchener blank Listowel, 6-0Kinsmen Arena Wed, Feb 26, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Marc Williams was superb between the pipes for the Kitchener Dutchmen, as he did not allow a goal in a 6-0 victory over the Listowel Cyclones. The win gave Kitchener a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Dutchmen were paced by Philip Moser, who had one goal. Moser scored 1:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kitchener. Jared Gilbert provided the assist. Kitchener forced Listowel goalie Daniel Dekoning to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Kitchener additionally got points from Mitchell Smith, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Kitchener included Alex Demrovsky, who had two and Brett Clampitt and Connor Cole, who each put in one. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Scott Pedersen, Austin Gaboury(APM), Keegan Calder, Keli Grant, Clayton Greer, Jacob Cascagnette, and Adam Kawalec, who contributed one a piece. The Cyclones did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up just one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Williams recorded 29 saves for the Dutchmen. Kitchener finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-1 with the man advantage. Daniel Dekoning made 35 saves for Listowel on 41 shots. The Cyclones registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
