Hill-Murray wins tough contest against Burnsville, 5-3Burnsville Ice Center Thu, Nov 21, 2013 In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Hill-Murray Pioneers escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Burnsville Blaze. Hill-Murray gained the winning advantage on a goal by Zach Mills 7:26 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Mills had a great game for the Pioneers, netting two goals. Hill-Murray additionally got points from Tyler Funk, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Mitch Slattery, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Josh French also scored for Hill-Murray. In addition, Hill-Murray received assists from Davis Zarembinski, Dustin Krueger, and Joey Anderson, who contributed one a piece. Burnsville was helped by Nick DiGregorio, who finished with one goal. DiGregorio scored 12:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nick St. Aubin assisted on the tally. Burnsville also got points from Dylan Weigel, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Burnsville also got a goal from Cole Borchardt as well. More assists for Burnsville came via Nolan Sawchuck, Brock Boesser, Anthony Rikberg, and Eric Otto, who each chipped in one. Sam Ilgen recorded 21 saves for Hill-Murray. The Pioneers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Blaze's Dylan Lubbesmeyer stopped 23 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Burnsville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
