Galt Arena Gardens    Sat, May 04, 2013

Jeff Bauer gave the London Nationals a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Cambridge Winter Hawks when he scored 11:20 into the extra period.

London evened the best of seven series at 3-3 and forced a deciding game seven.

Cambridge was stymied by the Nationals netminder Taylor Edwards, who stopped 44 shots during the victory. Edwards managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.41 prior to the game.

The Winter Hawks' power play was ineffective against London's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Shawn Crowley also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Lance Pridham, Noah Schwartz, Matt Wildman, and Derek Todosichuk, who contributed one a piece.

The Winter Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Nationals to score on any of their five power plays. Cambridge forced London goalie Edwards to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

The Winter Hawks were led by Christian Barnard, who scored the team's only goal. Barnard scored short handed 9:19 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Cambridge was on a disadvantage when Mitch Klie went off the ice for hooking. Cody Gratton picked up the assist.
