London falls to Cambridge in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Cambridge Winter Hawks' Maxime Lamontagne scored 3:35 into overtime to beat the London Nationals, 3-2 (OT).

The win gave Cambridge a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Winter Hawks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 26 penalty minutes.

Cambridge was led by Lamontagne, who tallied one goal.

The Winter Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven London power plays. Cambridge's offense rang up 42 shots on London's net.

Kyle Locke also scored for Cambridge. In addition, Cambridge received assists from Hudson Michaelis, Cody Gratton, Christian Barnard, Trevor Hache, and Chris Taylor, who each chipped in one.

The Nationals forced the Winter Hawks goalie Lucas Machalski to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

London was led by Aaron Dartch, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Dartch scored 17:35 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Sean Consitt assisted on the tally. London also got a goal from Jonathan Sims as well. More assists for London came via Robert MacFarlane, who had one.

Machalski recorded 38 saves for Cambridge. The Winter Hawks registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Cambridge ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brandon Plourde was ejected from the game. Taylor Edwards made 39 saves for the Nationals on 42 shots. London incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
