The St. Catharines Falcons had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Cambridge Winter Hawks.

Ben Walsh had two goals to lead St. Catharines to victory. Walsh's tallies came at 2:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines and 5:53 into the second to make the score 3-0 St. Catharines.

Cambridge's power play was ineffective against the Falcons' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

St. Catharines also got points from Greg Jambrosich, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Luke Karaim, who also had one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Yanni Rallis as well. The Winter Hawks were helped by Chris Taylor, who registered one goal. Taylor scored on the power play 10:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Catharines. A high sticking penalty on Dan MacEachern had put Cambridge on the power play. Andrew Coupland provided the assist. Cambridge additionally got points from Mitch Klie, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Cambridge were Cody Gratton and Trevor Hache, who each chipped in one.

St. Catharines' Jonathon D Ilario stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Falcons incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Winter Hawks' starting goalie, Lucas Machalski, made 16 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Jordan Lee, who stopped zero shots. Cambridge incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
