GAME RECAP

Sinclair stymies Chippawa, Dundas wins 3-1

Niagara Jr. C Head Office    Tue, Feb 05, 2013

Mark Sinclair had a standout game with 28 saves, and the Dundas Blues beat the Chippawa Riverhawks 3-1.

The win gave Dundas a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Chippawa's power play was ineffective against the Blues' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Dundas was led by Josh Wiley, who registered one goal. Wiley scored 6:02 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dundas. Kevin Jaczenko picked up the assist.

The Blues stifled the Riverhawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Chippawa was unable to stop Dundas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blues eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Mitch Reid also scored for Dundas. More assists for Dundas came via Jordan Peacock and Andrew Solow, who each chipped in one.

The Riverhawks were led by Dylan Lazarus, who scored the team's only goal. Lazarus scored 1:45 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Chippawa.

Dundas incurred 48 minutes in penalty time with four minors. David Johnston rejected 34 shots on goal for Chippawa. The Riverhawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
