NE Wolves falls to Hampton Roads Whalers in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Hampton Roads Whalers pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over NE Wolves on a clutch goal by Cameron Snyder.

Matthew Zendejas was all over the ice for Hampton Roads Whalers, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Zendejas scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hampton Roads Whalers. Hampton Roads Whalers earned a power play opportunity when Dylan Bader was put in the box for high sticking. Snyder provided the assist. Zendejas' next tally on the power play made the score 2-0 Hampton Roads Whalers with 9:12 left in the first period. Clayton Kanemitsu picked up the assist.

Hampton Roads Whalers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Hampton Roads Whalers also got points from Snyder, who also had two goals and one assist. In addition, Hampton Roads Whalers received assists from Scott Cornfield, who had one and Alexander Brissette, who had three.

NE Wolves had gained a power play chance when Brissette was whistled for slashing. Collin Bourque provided the assist. Flanagan's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Hampton Roads Whalers with -185 seconds left in the second period. NE Wolves had gotten the advantage when Hampton Roads Whalers' Snyder was sent off for interference. Will Humfryes assisted on the tally. NE Wolves additionally got points from Kendall Culbertson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for NE Wolves came via Matthew Heise, who had one.
