Hampton Roads Whalers downs Springfield EJ in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Hampton Roads Whalers' Clayton Kanemitsu scored 1:01 into overtime to beat Springfield EJ, 4-3 (OT).

Hampton Roads Whalers came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Hampton Roads Whalers fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Springfield EJ's Zach Kokosa at 4:02 in the second period. Hampton Roads Whalers knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Cameron Snyder at 21:11 in the second period.

Hampton Roads Whalers was led by Kanemitsu, who had one goal.

Hampton Roads Whalers also got points from Joshua Malts, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Hampton Roads Whalers also got a goal from Matthew Zendejas as well. In addition, Hampton Roads Whalers received assists from Scott Cornfield, who had two and Christopher Haynes, Cody Pessig, and Blake Scott, who each chipped in one.

Springfield EJ made Hampton Roads Whalers' goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 33 shots and forcing 30 saves. Brett Kilar made 13 stops and Scott made 17.
