Rogers rolls over Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake, 4-1

The Rogers Royals had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake Moose.

Rogers was led by Jason Roberge, who tallied one goal. Roberge scored on the power play 5:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rogers. Alexander Lorman picked up the assist.

The Royals put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake to score on any of its three power plays. Rogers forced the Moose goalie Darien Jones to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Rogers additionally got points from Lorman, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Travis Brown also scored for Rogers. In addition, Rogers received assists from Spencer Marchand, Matt Hellickson, Blake Timm, John Stanley, and Branden Cecil, who each chipped in one.

Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake was led by Birk Olson, who scored the team's only goal. Olson scored 30 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Mros provided the assist.

The Royals' Blake Ternus stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Rogers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Darien Jones made 30 saves for the Moose on 34 shots. Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
