St. Michael-Albertville downs Cambridge/Isanti in overtime, 4-3 (OT)STMA Gold Thu, Dec 06, 2012 The St. Michael-Albertville Knights pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Cambridge/Isanti Bluejackets on a clutch goal by Tyler Hayes. Although St. Michael-Albertville was up by as many as two goals in the third period, Cambridge/Isanti kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Bluejackets got to within 2-1 on a short handed goal by Dustin Davis at 3:55 in the third period. The Knights were sparked by Hayes, who had one goal. Hayes scored short handed 3:43 into overtime to make the score 4-3 St. Michael-Albertville. St. Michael-Albertville also got points from Tony Bork, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Mike Ryan, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Cade Gamrath also scored for St. Michael-Albertville. More assists for St. Michael-Albertville came via Zac Borgen, who had one and Matt Kisch, who had two. Cambridge/Isanti was helped by Mitch Renstrom, who finished with two goals. Renstrom scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:46 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Collin Anderson provided the assist. Renstrom's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Cambridge/Isanti with 11:57 left in the third period. Preston Simon picked up the assist. Cambridge/Isanti additionally got points from Davis, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Cambridge/Isanti were Elliott Simon, who had one. St. Michael-Albertville ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. The Bluejackets finished the contest with no penalties and went 2-for-0 with the man advantage.
