Rogers outlasts St. Michael-Albertville, 5-3Rogers AC Thu, Feb 14, 2013 In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Rogers Royals escaped with a 5-3 victory over the St. Michael-Albertville Knights. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Nate Weber's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Weber was all over the ice for Rogers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Weber scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rogers. The Royals earned a power play opportunity when Zac Borgen was put in the box for unsportsmanlike conduct. Travis Brown assisted on the tally. Weber's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Rogers with 5:18 left in the third period. Alexander Lorman picked up the assist. Rogers pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 27 penalty minutes. Rogers additionally got points from Lorman, who also had one goal and two assists and Brown, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Branden Cecil also scored for Rogers. In addition, Rogers received assists from Spencer Marchand, Brandon Spah, and Jacob Walker, who contributed one a piece. Rogers registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Matt Borgen rejected 25 shots on goal for the Knights.
