Cambridge/Isanti falls to Rogers in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Rogers Royals' Brandon Spah scored 2:28 into overtime to beat the Cambridge/Isanti Bluejackets, 4-3 (OT).

Spah had a great game for Rogers, netting two goals.

The Royals forced Cambridge/Isanti goalie Jacob Sibell to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Rogers also got a goal from Jacob Walker as well. In addition, Rogers received assists from Branden Cecil, who had one and Spencer Marchand and Blake Timm, who each chipped in two.

The Bluejackets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Rogers power plays.

Cambridge/Isanti was led by Jacob Sylvester, who tallied two goals. Sylvester scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:48 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Bluejackets had gotten the advantage when Rogers' Spah was sent off for roughing. Mike Nolt provided the assist. Sylvester's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Cambridge/Isanti with 19:16 left in the third period. Preston Simon also scored for Cambridge/Isanti. More assists for Cambridge/Isanti came via Matt Derby, who had one.

Blake Ternus rejected 12 shots on goal for the Royals. Rogers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Sibell recorded 38 saves for Cambridge/Isanti. The Bluejackets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
