HC Merano Junior rides Marozzi to victory over HC Eppan Appiano Sarah, 4-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Vincenzo Marozzi helped the HC Merano Junior Adler defeat the HC Eppan Appiano Sarah Pirates, 4-1.

HC Merano Junior's penalty kill excelled, as the Adler gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

HC Merano Junior was sparked by Viktor Wallin, who had one goal. Wallin scored 14:28 into the second period to make the score 2-0 HC Merano Junior. Massimo Ansoldi assisted on the tally.

The Adler stifled HC Eppan Appiano Sarah's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

HC Merano Junior also got points from Thomas Mitterer, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Stefan Palla also scored for HC Merano Junior. More assists for HC Merano Junior came via Viktor Schweitzer, who had one and Taggart Desmet, who had two.

The Pirates could not produce up to they normal offensive output. HC Eppan Appiano Sarah puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game.

The Pirates were led by Jake Newton, who scored the team's only goal. Newton scored 17:13 into the third period to make the score 2-1 HC Merano Junior. Tobias Ebner provided the assist.

Vincenzo Marozzi made 29 saves for HC Merano Junior on 30 shots. The Adler incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Mark Demetz rejected 12 shots on goal for HC Eppan Appiano Sarah. The Pirates incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
