HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega survives HC Merano Junior comeback, wins 4-3

The HC Merano Junior Adler tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega Wild Goose would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Michael Sullmann put HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega up 4-1 in the third period, but HC Merano Junior pulled to within one on Viktor Wallin's tally 18:58 into the third period.

The Wild Goose excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega was helped by Patrick Zambaldi, who registered one goal. Zambaldi scored 9:16 into the first period to make the score 2-0 HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega. Marian Zelger provided the assist. HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega additionally got points from Sullmann, who also had one goal and one assist. Flavio Faggioni also scored for HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega. More assists for HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega came via Alexander Sullmann, who had two and Daniele Delladio and Rudi Locatin, who each chipped in one.

The Adler struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for four opposing power plays.

HC Merano Junior was helped by Daniel Rizzi, who racked up one goal. Rizzi scored 7:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega. Danny Ellicassis assisted on the tally. HC Merano Junior also got a goal from Thomas Mitterer as well. In addition, HC Merano Junior received assists from Daniel Valgoi, Taggart Desmet, and Andreas Radin, who contributed one a piece.

Alex Caffi rejected 18 shots on goal for the Wild Goose. HC Neumarkt Egna Riwega incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Vincenzo Marozzi recorded 29 saves for the Adler.
