Atlanta Jr. Knights' Goodhue deadly on offense in 8-5 win against Tampa Juniors

Behind a great game by Alexander Goodhue, who had two goals, Atlanta Jr. Knights defeated Tampa Juniors, 8-5.

Goodhue scored on the power play at 6:38 into the second period to make the score 6-4 Atlanta Jr. Knights and again while 17:13 into the second to make the score 7-5 Atlanta Jr. Knights.

Atlanta Jr. Knights' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Tampa Juniors power plays. Atlanta Jr. Knights forced Tampa Juniors goalie Jared Stearns to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Atlanta Jr. Knights surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Atlanta Jr. Knights averages 4.2 goals per contest. Atlanta Jr. Knights gave up more goals than its normal season average. Atlanta Jr. Knights is averaging 2.0 goals against for the season. The defensemen of Atlanta Jr. Knights were also effective in Tampa Juniors' zone, and came away with two goals.

Atlanta Jr. Knights additionally got points from Aaron Dusek, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Atlanta Jr. Knights also got a goal from Derek Makimaa as well. In addition, Atlanta Jr. Knights received assists from Nick Webb, who had two and Jordan Landwehr, Hunter Scott, Joseph Panek, George Gerasimou, and Aaron Blaker, who each chipped in one.

Jared Goudreau also scored for Tampa Juniors. More assists for Tampa Juniors came via Michael Hirschauer, Ben Winter, Ryan Menard, and Paul Lochner, who contributed one a piece.

Brandon Haase recorded 33 saves for Atlanta Jr. Knights. Atlanta Jr. Knights incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jared Stearns made 24 saves for Tampa Juniors on 31 shots. Tampa Juniors incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
