Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Potomac Patriots defeated Palm Beach Hawks in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams. Palm Beach Hawks got a shootout goal from Dan Fuller. Potomac Patriots also got a shootout goal from Nicholas Gray.

Potomac Patriots came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Potomac Patriots trailed 2-0 after a goal by Palm Beach Hawks' Nick Aleva at 12:52 in the first period. Potomac Patriots knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Nathan Marks at 4:18 in the second period.

Potomac Patriots excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Potomac Patriots forced Palm Beach Hawks goalie Jacob Bloomfield to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Andrew Turgeon also scored for Potomac Patriots. Other players who recorded assists for Potomac Patriots were Matthew Wipper and Alexander Grose, who each chipped in one.

Palm Beach Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Potomac Patriots power plays.
