Potomac Patriots' comeback falls short, Florida Eels wins 4-2

Florida Eels, which led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Florida Eels and clinched a 4-2 victory.

Florida Eels led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Florida Eels' Brien Thompson's scored on the power play at 23:59 in the first period to put Florida Eels up 3-0.

Florida Eels kept Potomac Patriots' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alec Yutzler made 34 saves on 38 shots. Penalties took their toll on Florida Eels, as its penalty kill unit let in two power play goals.

Florida Eels was helped by Sean McGowan, who registered one goal. McGowan scored 3:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Florida Eels. Xavier Carrillo provided the assist. Florida Eels also got points from Thompson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Steven Prince also scored for Florida Eels. In addition, Florida Eels received assists from Zachery Mudge and Daniel Filler, who contributed one a piece and Joey Colatarci and Tom Doverhjelm, who each chipped in two.

Potomac Patriots was helped by Andreas Bagfedlt, who racked up one goal. Bagfedlt scored on the power play 1:11 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Florida Eels. Matthew Wipper picked up the assist. Potomac Patriots also got a goal from Nathan Marks as well. Other players who recorded assists for Potomac Patriots were Andrew Turgeon, who had one.

Teke Murphy recorded 27 saves for Florida Eels. Florida Eels incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Potomac Patriots incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
