Alex Richard was all over the ice for the Ayr Centennials, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Ayr's 9-1 win over the Norfolk Rebels.

Richard scored at 3:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ayr and again while short handed 50 seconds into the second to make the score 2-1 Ayr.

The Centennials' penalty kill excelled, as Ayr gave up one goal despite allowing 12 power plays.

The Centennials made Rebels' netminders to work between the pipes, finishing with 45 shots and forcing 36 saves. Alex Tipping made 28 stops and Jason Miller made eight. Ayr's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Centennials average 5.8 goals per contest. Ayr could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 70 minutes in penalties during the game.

Ayr additionally got points from Ben Poort, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Jimmy Roy, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Mike McKnight, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Alex Mutton, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Brady Wheelans, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Norfolk struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Centennials to score four power play goals on seven chances.

The Rebels were led by Michael Almas, who scored the team's only goal. Almas scored on the power play 11:49 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Norfolk had gotten the advantage when Ayr's Mutton was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Kurtis Pettitt provided the assist.

Lee Doherty rejected 19 shots on goal for the Centennials. The Rebels incurred 40 minutes in penalty time with 15 minors. Team's Ryan Oatway, Ricky Johnston, and Dylan Cole were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
